About Drag

Drag Racing is a sport and just like any sport it requires practice, time, precision, energy, and competition. So what is drag racing? According to National Hot Rod Association (NHRA), the worlds largest auto racing organization, drag racing is “... an acceleration contest, on a track, or drag strip, that begins from a standing start between two vehicles over a measured distance.” In layman's terms it simply means which car can get from point A to B faster in a straight line. Now this sounds easy but there are so many techniques and different scenarios that effect your performance. Overall the goal of this blog is not to promote people to go out and race their cars but instead to inform people considering it what to expect, give helpful tips to those that do go consistently, to show it’s safe, recently popular news and show the pros of being able to drag race. I want to share the passion I have for this sport and give all the information I know from my experiences. To be able to explain the rush, the feeling of not wishing to be anywhere else for those 13 seconds or less.
